filled with ups and downs, twists, turns and screams!
I got settled in my new apartment.
It took pretty much the whole year before it started to feel
more like home than just temporary lodging.
I had my first "out-of-town visitor" when my friend Tafriha stopped by.
It was so nice to see a familiar face again.
[Even if it wasn't a face I saw all the time, since she lives in So Cali.]
I went on a quick little getaway to Kansas City in April.
I was able to attend the Open House for the Kansas City Temple.
I was also able to catch up with family there, including my cousin
Kenny and his ever-growing brood.
So far so good...right? WRONG!
I was unemployed for a couple months and got a job shortly after
returning from my trip to Kansas City.
Unfortunately, this job was not meant to be in the long run,
because I was let go in the middle of July.
But then I got a bit of good news that sent me soaring back upwards
on that roller coaster of life.
I WAS GOING TO BE AN AUNTIE AGAIN!!!
My cute little sister Katrina and her husband Robbie were expecting
a baby around mid-February 2013.
A couple months later we found out they would be having a boy!
I finally felt like, "Now that's why I'm here!"
[I've always joked that once Katrina was pregnant I'd be moving
to be there with her and to spoil that cute baby.]
She had a baby shower in December.
Can't wait for this little guy to arrive!
A month or so after finding out about Katrina and Robbie's bundle of joy,
I got news that my brother Todd and his wife Jen were expecting...a girl!
YAY! Finally a niece!
More good news...I finally found a job...a wonderful job!!
I had been applying for a variety of job positions,
including nanny positions.
After a few close calls, I finally met with a family
that had 9 month old twin girls that needed a nanny 4 times a week.
One of the girls, came up to me and wanted to sit with me.
Apparently that isn't something she normally does,
so I'm sure that helped seal the deal!
The girls are so cute and so sweet it makes work a treat!
I've also enjoyed decorating for the various holidays throughout the year,
but was really looking forward to Christmas, since we have a vaulted ceiling
in the living room and were planning to buy a tall Christmas tree!
[I've just had a 4 foot tree for years and years!]
Apparently we went overboard with the decorating of the tree,
because one day it toppled over, damaging a number of ornaments.
[Most were thankfully able to be repaired.]
On Christmas day, we received somewhat of a Christmas miracle...
SNOW!!!!!
It had been a long time since I'd seen snow, so I couldn't pass up
the opportunity to have some wintertime fun!
