In some ways it felt like I had just arrived, it couldn't be time to go already?
And in other ways, it felt like I had always been there and why did I need to go?
I kept a picture in my purse to remind me.
This smoochy, sweet baby was the main reason for going back.
I already missed him so much!!! Oh, how I love him!!!
But I enjoyed getting to spend time with my other cutie nephew.
"Auntie Tammy, Auntie Tammy! Come play with me!"
"Auntie Tammy, Auntie Tammy! Can I see that?"
"Auntie Tammy, Auntie Tammy!
Where are you going? Are you going back to Texas?"
So it's my last day here...not going to be able to go everywhere,
do everything and see everyone I wanted to while I was here,
so just what will I get to do today?
I was able to go to the school I worked at for a visit.
I went inside and first popped my head into the office
and said, "SURPRISE!"
And just has been said many times before, they were
surprised to see me, but they weren't,
because it just seemed so natural for me to be there!
[And they couldn't believe it had been two years already!]
After chatting with them for a bit, I made my way back
to the playground, where I surprised Rosie and Patricia.
I got a surprise myself when I saw a girl standing next to
Patricia and I said, "That can't be who I think it is!"
She told me, "It is!"
Little Lizbeth all grown up! Her older sister, Giselle went there, too.
They also took the bus, so we would often ride on the bus to school together.
There were only a handful of children left that I knew
and was pleased that most of them remembered me.
Patricia turned the time over to me during story time before lunch,
but instead of reading a book, we just talked for a while and took
turns telling what kind of [pretend] bug they were hiding in their hands.
As the children left to go to lunch, I stayed in the room for a minute.
The room was different, but still the same.
I chatted with a couple other teachers, before saying my goodbyes,
and heading down to the other buildings.
I stopped inside the Creekside building first.
The two teachers that I knew there were surprised to see me!
They both asked me, "Are you back? For good?"
There was only one little girl, Abby, that I knew, all the rest were new to me.
My last stop was the Toddler building.
The first teacher who saw me rambled on for quite a bit.
I knew I didn't have much time before my brother was going to pick me up,
so I just wanted to know where the other teachers were.
I thought I was going to have to leave without even getting to see Michelle,
who was one of the teachers I was closest to, since we worked together a lot.
[And we both have a sweet tooth!]
But something told me to turn to the left, instead of the right
and there lying on the floor, like so many times before, was Michelle!
[It was naptime and she was patting a child to sleep.]
We got to talk for a little bit, but not as long as I would've liked
because my brother texted to tell me he was there.
I did get to play a little joke on her when she asked me about a ring I was wearing.
I specifically wore that ring to see if she would say something...and she did!
I did tell her there was a new guy in my life...
and then showed her the photo of my nephew, Benjamin!
Jen's mom works nearby, so they were hanging out with her while
I was visiting the school and we were going to go have lunch with her.
[Not quite the way I had wanted to spend my afternoon, but oh well.]
After lunch, I walked around with Todd and Kaden while Jen fed the baby.
By the time we got back, it was 3:00pm.
Too late to go to a few places I wanted to go.
Instead, I just walked around the neighborhood and made a few stops
along the way. Mailed something at the post office, got an ice cream cone,
looked around in Beverly's, TJ Maxx and the 99 Cent Store before
heading back to my brother's place.
I treated them for dinner and got pizza from Mountain Mike's.
[To be fair, more for my benefit than theirs.]
As I was trying to finish packing up all my stuff,
Kaden decided to borrow my camera to take some pictures.
Here's just a few of them.
He's such a silly boy!
It didn't seem quite real when it was time to head back to the airport.
When I got to the airport I had to play around with my luggage,
because my suitcase was 3-4 pounds over the limit.
[More than likely due to the frames I got at Ross.]
Thankfully, I was able to move things to my carry-on and get
the suitcase under the limit. WHEW!
Looking forward to planning another trip soon.
Maybe then I'll get to see who I want to see and go where I want to go!
