This was one of the days I was most looking forward to...
Sunday!!!
As I stepped through the doors, walked through the hallway
and entered the chapel doors, it just felt so normal, so right..
so much like home!
I sat in the middle of the chapel and now realize I should have sat
somewhere in the back, so I would have had a better view of everyone.
I enjoyed the peaceful feeling while listening to the prelude music
as I watched families quietly usher their way into the chapel.
It's been a while since I've had that opportunity, since the family
I ride to church with, gets us to church right on time or a few minutes late.
I looked at the program and saw that I picked a good day to be there
because there were wonderful speakers planned to give talks.
I knew right away that Heavenly Father was aware of me
as soon as one of the speakers began their talk
and spoke of something that had been on my mind.
It was something I personally don't recall hearing about before,
so I was surprised, but yet I wasn't, when that happened.
Just made this experience even more special and meaningful.
After Sacrament Meeting, I was able to chat with a few people,
but not as many as I would have liked to.
I saw many familiar faces, a few unfamiliar faces and sadly
there were many familiar faces I didn't get to see.
[A lot of people out-of-town for one reason or another.]
I saw that I was not the only one visiting today, so I knew I had to
find a way to chat with the other visitors before I left today.
I got to Sunday School a bit late because I was chatting with friends,
so the room was pretty full, but I managed to find a place to sit in the back.
This was the first time I really felt like things were different,
that things had gone on without me, because I had no idea
who this guy was teaching the class!
That was a bit of a bummer for me, just because it would've
been nice to have someone I knew as a teacher.
I also noticed a number of people who commented during the lesson
were unfamiliar to me. I mean, I knew there would be new people in the ward,
but I guess I didn't expect there to be that many and for them to be
running the show, so to speak.
I was able to chat with a few more friends before Relief Society started.
There was a special Relief Society lesson planned, so all the sisters in the ward
were in Relief Society today. Ghirardelli and See's Chocolates were being passed
out before the lesson started. Yet another good reason to be there today!
We watched a video and had a discussion. I enjoyed it.
As the lesson came to a close and we started to sing the closing hymn
a wave of emotions just came flooding over me.
I wasn't ready for it to be over! I didn't want this moment to end!
I wanted my time with my Concord Second Ward family
to go on....and on...and on!
I found myself wiping tears away as the closing prayer was said.
I had a couple of sisters/friends come over to me to say hello,
as I made my way over to say hello to the other visitors, Rachel and Felicia.
It was nice being able to see them. Since that's another perk I miss about
being in Concord Second, is when past ward family come to visit.
I was hoping to be able to see and talk with more people,
but the building emptied out pretty fast!
I guess they all must have had some big Mother's Day plans!
If I had known that was going to be the case,
I would have visited more before Sacrament Meeting,
rather than just quietly enjoying the music.
So that was a bummer!
I was also kicking myself for again, not taking any pictures!!!
You think I would have learned my lesson by now!
Just one more reason why I need to plan another trip back there soon!
