An Attitude of Gratitude - Day 8

I am SO grateful for my "little" sister, Katrina!
She is my most favorite person in the whole world!
I love her SOOO much!
I can't imagine what my life would be like without her!

C'mon, look at those eyes!

Since she was a baby, there was just something about her....
she pretty much had me wrapped around her little finger from day one.
[And it didn't hurt that I thought she was the cutest baby EVER!]

Look at that face! How could you resist?

So stinkin' cute! [And yeah, she knows it!]

Katrina Ballerina....forever!
She loved to dress up in swimsuits and tutus and dance around!

I would play photographer so Katrina could play model.
She really didn't need any direction, she pretty much did her own thing!

Katrina has always had a soft spot for kitties...and still does!
She loves the baby kitties!

Because Katrina was so freaking cute, we entered her in baby pageants.
[And no, the pageants were NOTHING like the ones from those reality TV shows!]
Katrina loved to strut her stuff and be all cute for the judges!
But her favorite thing about the pageants was winning trophies!
[I think she collected about a dozen or so, from 1st Place Beauty to Queen!]

Always ready to strike a pose!
[And note the shoes...Katrina loved her jellies!]

Watching Alice in Wonderland over and over taught Katrina a valuable lesson...
how to curtsy, which came in handy, especially for cutie pictures like this one.

Such a silly girl!

Growing up....sigh...it's inevitable.
No longer a little baby...but still a cute little girl!

Ahhh...the teenage years....
Hair colors of all the colors of the rainbow...
Piercings....and boy craziness.....

When Katrina was 17, we took a sisters trip to Disneyland.
[The trip I wish I could have given the 4 year old version of herself.]
After all those years she finally got to meet her childhood hero, Ariel!

And I couldn't help but recall the days, when she wanted to be Ariel!

All grown up...but still a little princess!

I'm grateful for Katrina because she makes me smile!

I'm grateful for all the special moments we've shared together.

I still can't believe sometimes that she's a married woman,
And not this sweet little 3 year old anymore!

I am grateful that my sister found someone like Robbie.

I'm grateful that she has someone who loves and absolutely adores her...

and someone she can be silly with....

and that treats her like the princess she is!

And even though we're separated by several states,
and only see get to see each other once or twice a year,
I'm grateful that we're still able to remain close.

Whether it's by text messages or posts on facebook,
or chatting on our cell phones, we're there for each other,
through the good times and not-so-good times.

When Katrina was younger she would always tell me,

"I love you as big as the city, as big as the world...
and take me to the park next week!"

For my birthday this year, she sent me a pin of a gold heart, with the world inside it.
I keep it by my computer as a reminder that there's always someone who loves me
as big as the city...as big as the world!

I love you, Katrina!
I'm so glad that you're part of my world!
